Current event log: Messages in the event log can be helpful in solving problems that you may be experiencing in connecting to the Internet. Attempt to connect and then return to this page to view the resulting messages. Some common error messages are shown below. Common Error Messages Modem X: No response There is no modem connected to the Modem X port. (X can be 1 or 2) The modem is not turned on. The cable connecting the WebRamp 200i to the modem is not proper. Modem X: Error The configuration for the Modem X port does not match the connected modem (i.e. Modem X may be configured as a US Robotics but a Motorola modem is connected). Modem X: No Carrier A working phone line is not connected to the modem. The ISP's phone number was incorrectly entered. The ISP is returning a busy signal. The number may need to be dialed with number such as "9," in front to get an outside line. PPP Connection Failed PPP Authentication Failed The user name given by the ISP was not properly entered. The password given by the ISP was not properly entered. No messages appear The WebRamp 200i is not configured. The computer accessing the Internet does not have the WebRamp 200i set as its gateway in the computer's TCP/IP software. |
